The Van Doren Rubber Company, universally known as Vans, was founded in America in Anaheim California in 1966 by brothers Paul and Jim Van Doren together with partners Gordon Lee and Serge Delia. The first three models, including the Vans #44 Deck, now known as the Authentic, were made on the premises and sold directly to the public. The original version of the Vans skateboard logo was designed in Costa Mesa, California by James Van Doren’s 13-year-old son, Mark in the Seventies, as were the iconic models worn by youngsters all over the world today.
